old, and we come to Arkansas.

"He told us riddles. One I remember was:

"There was four of us children. We raised ourselves. My parents' name was Peter Brooks and Lucy Brooks. My

father said he was owned by Alfred Brooks and he called his wife Miss Puss.

"I cooked, washed, and ironed since I been in Arkansas."
